QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

Having the correct paediatric first aid provision is not only a statutory requirement for the majority of childcare providers, it is extremely important for the safety of children. This qualification can be delivered over 2 full days or delivered in-hour at times to suit your nursery or school setting. 

The QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework and is ideal for: 

• Those who have gained a level 2 and/or level 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with EYFS requirements.
• Registered childminders and assistants who are required to hold a current and full paediatric first aid certificate in order to comply with the EYFS requirements.
• Anyone who has a non-professional involvement with infants and children, such as parents, grandparents and want to learn key paediatric
first aid skills.

Successful candidates will learn the roles and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider, and will be equipped with the necessary skills to administer safe and effective treatment when dealing with a range of paediatric first aid situations.

QA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

This qualification is ideal for anyone who cares for infants and children, such as: parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have a professional involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)qualification  delivered over 6-7 hours has been designed in-line with the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is ideal for:
• Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements.
• Anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents,guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

The Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Course is ideal for those who work in settings that require both first aiders and paediatric first aiders, such as schools, sports clubs or other childcare settings.

Anaphylaxis is a severe and life-threatening allergic reaction, which requires immediate medical attention. With the number of sufferers increasing each year, it is extremely important to know what to do when faced with this acute emergency condition.

The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic life support

and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency. Successful candidates will be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, and will be equipped with the vital skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective treatment.

At willhan training we work with many school head teachers to provide bespoke training in first aid for lunchtime supervisors and aftercare staff:

Sessions can be as short as one hour in duration to a full 6-hour first aid course.
